These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AffirmUs ("the app," "we," "our"). By creating an account or using AffirmUs, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
AffirmUs is a mobile application designed to strengthen romantic relationships through daily affirmations, partner messaging, journaling, and shared content. The app allows two users to link as partners and share affirmations, messages, and journal entries with each other.
You must be at least 17 years old to use AffirmUs. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
You may create an account using email and password, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes. One person may hold only one account.
AffirmUs offers a free tier with basic features and optional premium subscriptions:
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
To cancel a subscription, go to your device's Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > AffirmUs > Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
If either partner in a linked couple holds a premium subscription, both partners receive access to premium features.
AffirmUs allows you to link with one partner at a time using a 6-digit invite code. By linking with a partner, you consent to share the following with them:
Private journal entries are never shared unless you take the explicit action to share them. You may unlink from a partner at any time through the app's Settings. You may also block a partner to prevent further communication.
You retain ownership of all content you create in AffirmUs, including journal entries, custom messages, and any text you write. By using the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the app and delivering it to your linked partner when you choose to share it.
This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
You agree not to use AffirmUs to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
If you receive content from a partner that violates these Terms, you may report the content through the app (long-press on a message or use the menu on the Us tab) and block the partner. We will review reports and take action as appropriate, which may include account suspension or termination.
You may permanently delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account. Account deletion removes all of your data, including:
Active partnerships will be dissolved. This action is irreversible. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through the App Store; deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.
The AffirmUs app, including its design, code, affirmation content, and branding, is owned by AffirmUs and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the app.
AffirmUs is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. AffirmUs is not a substitute for professional relationship counseling or mental health services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AffirmUs and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months prior to the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access to AffirmUs at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of AffirmUs shall be resolved in the courts of Bexar County, Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
